John C. Leo is the managing member and founder of Venture Capital Partners, LLC, (VCP) a private equity investment and consulting firm. He is also a member of the General Partner of the Strategic Alliance Fund, which manages an investment partnership. Mr. Leo was the founder and previously the Chairman of American Union Securities, a New York based investment banking firm from its inception until the sale of his majority ownership which took place in March 2007, and he is currently the Chairman of Primary Capital LLC, a New York based investment banking firm with a core focus and expertise in reverse merger transactions and private placement financing.

Mr. Leo, in his capacity as the managing member of VCP, provides various advisory services to both late stage private companies and small to mid-sized public companies. These services include introductions for equity and debt financing, recommendations regarding investor relations, establishing strategic relationships, and introductions with investment banks, and research analysts. Mr. Leo has an extensive background in securities trading, investment banking, and the financial transaction business. He became a registered representative in 1987 and maintains the following NASD registrations: Series 7 and 63, Series 55 – Equity Trader, and Series 24 - Registered Securities Principal. Over the past twenty years Mr. Leo has worked for market making and proprietary trading firms, as well as several full service investment banks.
